Hurry up and wait

Toni and I had a nice Uber ride to the airport and we are waiting to get on a plane and wait some more.  They say Tulsa waits for no man, no they say what happens in Tulsa stays in Tulsa, wait no it's Tulsa wasn't built in a day. Whatever. We will be on our way to Tul.... Err Phoenix shortly.  Phoenix, city of angels.

We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. Tonight we get to visit with Jack and Toni will get to tour the woodshop. Vacation!

Lurking. Always lurking.

Don't forget when not blogging I'm lurking.

I'm caught up on last years blog. I've reinstalled the blog app. I'm ready to go.

Gearing Up for FamilyPalooza 2014

I've spent the last minutes of my life reading our Cousinpalooza Blog. Really. It was only a few minutes. We weren't that prolific, yet I am pretty happy with the fact that we used this thing even once! Shouldn't surprise me, though.

Patrick is always. blogging. always.

When anyone asks me about our Cousinpalooza trip for this year, I get to tell them that it's *actually Familypalooza.

Last year every grownup that spoke of our trip did so with such a yearning, with wish and want just dripping from each word, that we decided every other year we would include them.

We're givers.

This year, we have a gorgeous house rented on the Grand Lake. Look. It really is gorgeous. And we should each one of us have a good place to sleep. That's the game plan anyway.

So the house is rented. I have directions and the key location in hand.

The koozies and t-shirts have been printed. Taryn's got them ready.

I couldn't resist the opportunity to own one of these bad boys so we've got that too. Dad will bring the air compressor.

Mark spent a goodly amount of time and ordered replacement parts and some for back up and got the old family 8mm movie projector working. There were too reels of film with it and we watched them the other night to do some testing for any issues. It was pretty amazing.

MeMe and Papa are laughing and so happy.

I can't wait to be surrounded by family and the lake and great laughter and food and drink and just re-fill on all of it.

...watch out for those stairs.

Well....  I'm not the prolific blogger like Patrick (who, as we all know, is blogging ALL the time), but I do have a few things to say.  I was telling a friend about the trip today and I said, "I like these people so much I'd be their friends in real life."  True story. I didn't feel like the new guy at all.  It was all so easy and comfortable.  Something unexpected, but at the same time something I've learned to expect since I met Misti.

Thank you all so much for such a wonderful time together and I look forward to many more adventures in the future!

P.S.  My butt STILL hurts.  Stupid stairs...

What Fresh Hell Is This?

No half and half?

No beautiful glass like lake?

No Jerome cooked seventy course meal?

The voice of Matt Lauer in place of the laughter that was my custom morning wake up?

I actually have to put on real clothes and real makeup and go work on real things that do not include a plan to attack a water park?

The only thing about this that isn't total bullshit is the bed I'm in right now.

It's not on the floor. It's not a thinly covered pad to a futon. It's got box springs and sheets and fits two people comfortably.

I guess I will get up and get to work....where I can start researching things to do in Branson next year.

Home

After a long day and very long wait for the bus in SD we are home

When it became a thing we've always done

This was the best time ever.

I have never been around this many people for this many days where everyone just stayed in a good mood.  In spite of sleeping poorly and exhausting ourselves to the bone everyone just rolled with the punches, laughed, and appreciated each other.

I have always known how much I missed you all individually but I now understand how much I missed us collectively.  When we get together we are something special.

I think we are all in agreement that Cousinpalooza is now a regular thing.  In fact, I am already thinking about the next one.

Love you all.
